Is the program free?

There is no fee to enter the program, however, there may be a cost associated with the housing portion of the program. This cost is calculated based on client income and cannot be determined until a client is ready for leased housing within the facility.

Is there a waiting  list and how do I get on it?

Yes, there is a waiting list for admission. To get on the waiting list you must call the facility at 270-715-0810 and complete a telephone screening. Once the telephone screening is complete you may call once per week to update your waiting list status.

How long is the program?

Program length is approximately six months.

Can I work or attend school while enrolled in the program?

No, clients are not allowed to earn money or attend school while enrolled in the program.

Can I have visitors on property?

Visitation is limited on property and must be coordinated with staff. There is no visitation for the first 10 days of the program. As clients progress through the program they are allowed free time to visit with family after program hours.

Can I smoke cigarettes?

MARC is a smoke free campus, therefore smoking is prohibited on MARC property.

What should I do in case of an emergency and I need to contact a client?

In case of an emergency you should call MARC at 270-715-0810 and leave a message. Emergency messages will be delivered immediately. Non-emergency messages are delivered daily at 4:00 P.M.

Are children allowed to stay with clients at the facility?

No, children are not allowed to live at MARC.

Can I call or send mail?

Pay phones are provided on property to use at client’s expense during designated times. Mail may be sent for clients to1791 Old Louisville Rd. Bowling Green, KY 42101. Mail is distributed daily at 4:00 P.M.

Will I be allowed to attend court dates?

Yes, however, you are responsible for transportation to and from court. Most likely you will not be granted overnight passes to attend court. You will be allowed to go and return within the same day.

How much spending money should I bring?

We do not recommend bringing large amounts of cash. Spending money is needed for pay phones, vending machines, and personal care items.

Can I bring a car with me to the program?

No. Personal vehicles and other motorized equipment is prohibited upon admission to the program. Clients who successfully complete their 10th step of the recovery program and remain in compliance with all facility rules and regulations may have a car as long as they have a valid driver’s license and can show proof of vehicle insurance.

What should I bring upon arrival to the facility?

• 1 week worth of seasonal appropriate clothing including underwear, socks, pajamas, and jackets/coats if necessary
• AA Big Book
• Back Pack
• Notebook paper and writing utensils
• Personal care items such as toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorant, lotion, bar soap, shampoo/conditioner, disposable razors
• Change for pay telephones or phone cards
• Small sum of money for vending machines and personal care items
• Comfortable walking shoes
• Small alarm clock
• Umbrella, rain coat, and rain boots are needed during the spring and fall
• Winter coat, hat, gloves, neck scarf, and winter boots are needed during the winter season
• Photo ID, Social Security Card, and birth certificate. These documents may be obtained after arrival at cost to the client. ID’s are $12.00, driver’s license is $20.00, and birth certificates are $10.00. Prices for birth certificates may vary from state to state.
• Facility approved medication and prescription information from prescribing doctor

What items are prohibited?

• Cell phones
• Items that have alcoholic content including but not limited to rubbing alcohol, mouthwash, nail polish remover, body sprays, and perfumes
• Items in aerosol and/or pressurized cans
• Food, snacks, and gum
• Liquid laundry detergent, fabric softener, and bleach
• Televisions, lap tops, DVD players, cameras, and video recorders
• Cars, motorized equipment, and bicycles

Allegations of sexual abuse and sexual harassment shall be promptly, thoroughly and objectively investigated. Sexual abuse investigations alleging force, coercion, or possible criminal behavior shall be conducted by specially trained investigators from the Kentucky Department of Corrections, Kentucky State Police, or other law enforcement agency.
